As Chair of the Department of Cardiology, Dr. Rotatori oversees a dedicated team of healthcare professionals, ensuring that patients receive state-of-the-art treatment for a wide range of cardiovascular conditions. Under his leadership, RUMC has implemented innovative practices that improve patient outcomes, focusing on conditions such as congestive heart failure, atrial fibrillation, coronary artery disease, heart attacks, and hypertension. His vision and expertise have attracted thousands of patients from the New York-New Jersey Metropolitan Area seeking comprehensive cardiac care.
In addition to his role at RUMC, Dr. Rotatori serves as the Medical Director at Richmond Health Network, where he collaborates with senior leadership to ensure the quality of clinical services across a network of over 180 physicians. His strategic insight guides the development of programs that aim to enhance patient care and expand access to cardiovascular services in the community.
Dr. Rotatori’s journey began in Italy, where he graduated from the University of Milan School of Medicine and Surgery. His postgraduate training at the prestigious Centro Cardiologico Monzino solidified his expertise in cardiovascular disease. After relocating to New York City with his wife Susanna and their four children, he completed full training in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, and Interventional Cardiology while working at various hospitals under the SUNY Downstate Medical Center.
With board certifications in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Interventional Cardiology, Echocardiography, and Nuclear Cardiology, Dr. Rotatori brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his practice. In 2014, he founded his private practice, expanding his reach across different boroughs of New York City. By 2017, he joined RUMC, initially as Associate Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Lab, before ascending to his current leadership position.
Dr. Rotatori’s commitment to excellence extends beyond clinical practice. In 2021, he earned an executive MBA from the Quantum School of Business and Technology, further enhancing his leadership skills. He actively participates in RUMC’s Board Strategic Planning Committee and Hospital Quality initiatives, ensuring that the hospital remains at the forefront of healthcare delivery.
In recognition of his outstanding contributions, Dr. Rotatori was honored with the 2020 New York City Landmark Hero Award from the New York Landmark Conservancy for his dedicated frontline work during the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, in 2022, he received the President’s Business Award from the South Shore Rotary Club, acknowledging his impactful work within the community.
As of 2023, Dr. Rotatori serves as President of the Medical Staff at RUMC, representing the interests of the medical community at the board level. His leadership and dedication to patient care continue to inspire his colleagues and serve as a beacon of hope for patients in need of cardiovascular services.
