Get to know Dentist Dr. Mark W. Johnson, who serves patients in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Recognized as a top professional in the field of dentistry, Dr. Johnson has served the Albuquerque community for over three decades at his private practice. 

A firm believer that overall health begins with oral health, he has made the mission of his dental team to instruct, educate and empower their dental family to strive and attain optimal dental health. He also provides valuable, quality dental care in a comfortable, friendly, and compassionate environment.

Academically, Dr. Johnson graduated from the University of New Mexico with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology. He always enjoyed helping people, and his father was a dentist, so it only seemed natural to pursue a career in dentistry himself. After earning his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Missouri in Kansas City, he entered private practice.

He and his team strive to exceed expectations. Around the office, Dr. Johnson’s team members appreciate his communication skills, flexible nature, and patience.

He is a member of the American Dental Association, the New Mexico Dental Association, the Albuquerque District Dental Society, the Westside Study Club, and the American Academy of Dental Practice.

Committed to learning, Dr. Johnson regularly adds to his expertise through continuing education courses. Highlights include: Invisalign®, practice management, various dental techniques, OSHA, and HIPAA.

Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. Dentists diagnose and treat dental issues and help patients develop better oral hygiene regimens. They clean teeth, correct bite issues, perform surgeries and extractions, and perform other duties to ensure that the teeth and mouth are healthy.  

On a more personal note, Dr. Johnson has been married for over 33 years. He has one son, one daughter, and one son-in-law. When he’s away from the office, he enjoys playing golf, fishing, hiking, gardening, watching the Dallas Cowboys, and tinkering with his ’65 Mustang.
