After relocating to the United States, he completed his internship and residency in neurology at Cleveland Clinic Florida, serving as Chief Resident.

Subsequently, he completed his fellowship in vascular neurology at the National Institute of Health, before returning to Florida to complete his fellowship in interventional neurology with the Radiology Associates of South Florida, Baptist Health.

In pursuit of clinical excellence, the doctor is board-certified in neurology, vascular neurology, and interventional neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, which is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to promoting high-quality patient care for the public through the initial and continuing certification of psychiatrists and neurologists.

Remaining up to date in his field, Dr. Candedo is an active member of the Advanced Neuroscience Network, the Society of Vascular and Interventional Neurology, the World Stroke Organization, the American Heart Association, the American Academy of Neurology, the American Association of Neuromuscular & Electrodiagnostic Medicine, and the International Society of Endovascular Specialists.
