Get to know Neurologist Dr. Maryana Liedke, who serves patients in Ronkonkoma, New York.

Dr. Liedke is a seasoned neurologist who joined Mid-Suffolk Neurology & Sleep Medicine in Ronkonkoma, New York in January of 2019. Her interests include all aspects of general neurology (including therapeutic injections for headaches, neck pain, and low back pain) with special expertise in multiple sclerosis.  

Finding joy in mentoring medical students, she is a voluntary Clinical Assistant Professor of Neurology at Stony Brook. She is also affiliated with Stony Brook University Hospital.

Academically, Dr. Liedke graduated with her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2013. She then went on to perform her internship in internal medicine and residency in neurology at Stony Brook University Hospital in 2013 and 2014, respectively. She subsequently pursued additional fellowship training in multiple sclerosis at Weill Cornell MS Center in 2017.

A member of the American Academy of Neurology, she is board-certified in neurology by the American Board of Neurology and Psychiatry (ABPN). The ABNP is an organization that provides board certification to qualified Doctors who specialize in disorders of the nervous system.

Neurology is a branch of medicine dealing with disorders of the nervous system. Neurologists are licensed medical specialists who diagnose and treat disorders that affect the brain, spinal cord, nerves, and muscles of patients. They examine a patient’s mental and physical status, conduct medical tests and scans, and evaluate the results to diagnose and treat the patient.
