GENESIS Fertility & Reproductive Medicine is one of many medical practices and fertility clinics in the New York City metropolitan area dedicated to the treatment of reproductive disorders. With multiple clinics in New York, GENESIS Fertility serves infertility patients from New York City, Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, and Long Island.
Passionate about providing her patients with innovative and cutting edge treatment, Dr. Chiware believes in patient-centered and personalized care, emphasizing patient education and inclusion in all decision-making regarding their care. Her primary goals are to establish excellent working relationships with her patients and to achieve for them the best possible outcomes. Her most prized professional goal is to help her patients become parents.
Originally from Zimbabwe and born in London, Dr. Chiware attended medical school at The University of Birmingham and trained in obstetrics & gynecology with the NHS in London. She then relocated to the United States, where she completed residency training at the St. Joseph Mercy Health System in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She completed her fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at the University of Vermont.
Licensed to practice medicine in New York, the doctor is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology & reproductive endocrinology and infertility by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The mission of the ABOG is to define specialty standards, certify obstetricians and gynecologists, and facilitate continuous learning to advance knowledge, practice, and professionalism in women’s health.
Working extensively with the World Health Organization to improve access to reproductive services, Dr. Chiware has traveled extensively on short missions around the world that have aimed to improve the quality of care. She has written about and presented the results of her research work at numerous national and international conferences. She is the recipient of many awards and has also received grant funding for this work.
Obstetrics and gynecology (OB-GYN) is the medical specialty that encompasses the two subspecialties of obstetrics (covering pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period) and gynecology (covering the health of the female reproductive system – vagina, uterus, ovaries, and breasts). An obstetrician-gynecologist specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases and disorders that affect women, such as breast cancer, cervical cancer, and menopause. Additionally, they work with expecting mothers throughout their pregnancies, during childbirth, and into postpartum.
