Heart attack?
There are many many reasons to have chest pain and a heart attack is only one of them. Heart attack pain is often crushing or pressure in nature and is often accompanied with sweating and possibly nausea. You can have pain or tingling in your arms and sometimes up into your jaw. If the pain fits any of these categories you might want to go to the ER. READ MORE
Chest discomfort short term, daily?
Yes. I would have it assessed. Rhythm problems that necessitated your pacemaker are not always related to coronary vascular problems and therefore your coronary arteries should be assessed if they have not already. This can be done by an exercise nuclear scan or a stress echocardiogram. There are many other causes of chest pain such as inflammation of the cartilage between your ribs and sternum called Costcochronditis. A visit to your doctor with an exam of your chest is probably as good idea. READ MORE
How long is an echocardiogram?
It depends on which type of echo you are having. A transthoracic echo is done by passing an ulrasound probe around the front of the chest to obtain ultrasound images of the heart and its structures. It takes about ten to twenty minutes and is non invasiv A transesophogeal echo is made by passing a scope with an ultrasound probe on the tip into the esophagus. You would be sedated for this procedure and it would take around fifteen to twenty minutes. Altthough this procedure is more invasive the images of the heart are usually of a higher quality. Your physician can recommend which procedure is better for you READ MORE
Is coronary artery bypass surgery a major surgery?
Yes. Coronary bypass surgery is major surgery but in many cases it can be life saving. The risks involved depend upon a number of factors such as the overall function of your heart before surgery, the condition of your lungs and kidneys prior to any surgery, the presence of hardening of the arteries in other places in the body and many other things as well. All of the risks should be discussed in detail with your surgeon prior to undergoing surgery. For a patient in otherwise good health with good ability of the heart to eject blood on each beat the risk of dying from bypass surgery should be 1-2%-roughly the same as having gallbladder surgery or a hysterectomy READ MORE
What diet can help with heart arrhythmia?

Foods containing caffeine like chocolate or foods that are highly spiced or have high sugar content will often exacerbate arrhythmia .
