Should I get the flu shot this year?
I had the flu shot last year, and I contracted the flu anyway. It was pretty bad, and I've never felt so sick in my life. Is it worth it getting the flu shot this year?

Its true that the flu shot doesnt guarantee you wont get the flubut it can reduce the severity if you do get sick, and it helps protect against the most common or severe strains expected each year. Even though you had the flu last year, the shot may have helped prevent even worse complications.
Each flu season is different, and your immune system changes tooso its still worth considering the flu shot again this year, especially if you want to lower your risk of serious illness or protect others around you who may be more vulnerable.

The flu shot is recommended for most individuals, unless you have an allergy or previous adverse reaction. While the flu shot is helpful in prevention, it does not completely protect you from contracting the flu. It should, however, help minimize complications such as hospitalization and pneumonia, if you contract the flu.
Yes. You may be feeling ill after the vaccine which is the immune response to the vaccine. I still recommend getting the flu shot as the actual infection could be worse and likely be ill for longer period of time.
