Dr. Keller, a board-certified cardiologist, specializes in cardiomyopathy diagnosis and treatment, pulmonary hypertension, as well as heart transplant management and follow-up. Prior to joining Levinson Heart Failure Clinic, Dr. Keller practiced with Cardiac Care Associates, PC, in Reston, Virginia for 25 years. He was the Medical Director for the Inova Fairfax Hospital Heart Transplant Program from 1998 to 2004 and served on the Board of Trustees at Reston Hospital Center from 2011 to 2015, where he was also Director of the Cardiovascular Service Line and Cardiac Catheterization Lab until his relocation to Richmond.
In regards to his academic career, he earned his undergraduate degree from Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts, and his medical degree from St. George’s University in Grenada, West Indies. He then went on to complete both his internship and residency in internal medicine at Yale University Norwalk Hospital in Connecticut, followed by his fellowship in critical care medicine at St. Louis University School of Medicine in Missouri. He also completed his fellowship in cardiology at Jewish Hospital at Washington University in St. Louis, where he served as Chief Fellow during his final year of training.
With over 38 years of diverse experience, the doctor is board-certified in both internal medicine and cardiovascular disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine, a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world. What’s more, he is board-certified in advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology and holds Special Competency in Pacing/ICD from the Heart Rhythm Society.
Apart from being a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, Dr. Keller is a member of several professional organizations, including the Medical Society of Virginia and the Heart Failure Society of America.
