A seasoned cardiologist, Dr. Caldera works with patients at Baylor Scott & White Clinic – Round Rock. Specializing in Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR), his professional journey is marked by a profound commitment to advancing the frontiers of medical knowledge, with a particular focus on interventional cardiology, structural and valvular heart disease, and vascular medicine.

Back in 1994, he earned his medical degree from the Universidad Central De Venezuela Facultad de Medicina. Upon relocating to the United States, he completed his residency in internal medicine at the Albert Einstein Medical Center in 2004, followed by a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at the Baylor College of Medicine in 2007. Finally, he completed an additional fellowship in interventional cardiology at Massachusetts General Hospital in 2008.

As a testament to his success, the doctor is board-certified in cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology, and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

A prominent researcher, Dr. Caldera’s research endeavors contribute to the collective understanding of cardiovascular diseases and interventions, as evidenced by his numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals. He also actively participates as a voting member of the Peripheral Arterial Disease Committee of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (SCAI).
