How can I make my loose tooth strong again?
That’s a loaded question. If a tooth is loose, it’s either had bone loss, root loss, or other. That question has to be answered by your dentist after reviewing X-rays and a good exam. There are hundreds of reasons for that, most common is periodontal disease. But again, your situation should be addressed by your dentist. I assume you are not currently being seen by a dentist. So my advice is, go see a dentist to avoid further issues as teeth should not be loose. Dr. Jensen READ MORE
Is polishing necessary after scaling?
Yes. Is washing your plate important after picking off the food? Just poking fun The point of scaling is to remove the larger particles of hard plaque from your teeth. How can I prevent tooth decay?
Tooth decay is a multifactorial disease. What the heck does that mean, you ask? It means there are hundreds of things that work together to cause cavities. The short answer is, bacteria eat the food and drink you do, metabolize it and as a waste product they produce acid. That acid causes the soft area and then hole in your tooth. So, bacteria poop acid in your mouth. Gross, huh? So, one main way to avoid cavities is to remove the bacteria and acid from your mouth. How? Easy, brush it off with a toothbrush. That brushing removes the food, bacteria and the acid. If you use a toothpaste with fluoride it will also help strengthen you teeth and make them more resistant to the acid. In combination with that, watching your diet helps a great deal. Simple carbohydrates like sugar are loved by the bacteria. So, cutting back your frequency or intake of sugary bacteria will cut back on bacteria amounts and acid. Using a mouth rinse that kills the bacteria will also help. So, brushing, flossing, and diet are the major keys. That's why your dentist harps on you about brushing, not because he or she is a jerk and loves to talk and drive you crazy, but because your dentist likes ya and wants the best for you. Simple solution to a complex issue. Dr. J READ MORE
